MICCAI Society Student Travel Grant

The MICCAI Society Student Travel Grants is available for student researchers from outside the host country, to assist their attendance at the annual MICCAI conference.

Type 1
Grants will be awarded, at $ 500 or $750 USD, each. In 2010, the Society allocated $10,000 for this purpose.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Full time student status at the time of paper submission. (Notes: If you are no longer a full time student, you must explain your new circumstances in the application form.)
  • First authorship in a paper accepted to the main MICCAI 2010 conference. (Note: workshop papers do not qualify.)
  • Current membership in the MICCAI Society

Type 2
Another grants (no more than 20) with the fund from the local organizer of MICCAI’2010, and each grant is composed by 1 pre/post-workshop/tutorial, and 5-night accommodation ( The Standard Room (2 beds) with RMB 350 of Huiyuan International Apartment Media Village, click here for detailed hotel information ).

  • Authored or co-authored a paper accepted to the main MICCAI 2010 conference. (Note: workshop papers do not qualify.)
  • Current membership in the MICCAI Society


How to apply:
Your Application package should contain the following documents, in PDF format:

  • Filled-out Application Form (download the form)
  • Signed letter from supervisor or university to certify student status (download the form)
  • Short CV, including research record
  • Specify the grant type you apply (Type 1 or 2). You could only apply no more one type grant above, otherwise your application(s) would be rejected

Email your application package to Ms. Janette Wallace, MICCAI Secretariat, . In the subject field, write “MICCAI Society Student Travel Grant Application”. Application Deadline: Aug 8, 2010 .

The grant applications will be reviewed by a committee comprised of representatives of the MICCAI Board and senior MICCAI researchers. The committee will strongly consider need for funds. Students from less developed countries and female students are especially encouraged to apply. The review process is separate from your registration. This award is a supplement. You must register to the main MICCAI 2010 conference. The award would be paid to you in form of a check, in US dollars, payable to you, mailed to the address you provide in the registration form.
